Not all doctors are at the same time so we do not connect us to the feet. In the three weeks the team is constantly changing. We again treat disabled children, mostly zerebralgeschädigte. Of the many children we have already examined, 29 are provided for operations in the next few days. Each of the doctors pay its flight, their stay and much more The operations themselves are up to hospital costs free, so that also can make something poorer. This year, few patients from abroad. There are some from Peru, a Chilean and a woman from Panama.
For me, Eckhart, it is an intense time with patients and many needs for many years. The spiritual need is great, because many marriages of the patients parents have failed or heavily loaded. Our hospital chaplains are part of the team, they have much more time for talks. It was nice to see how they Peruvians who live in simple apartments behind the hospital in Quito, have been invited to the same church services. I look forward to this time. Through more routine in the organization, I have more time to talk to me personally with patients and their families. And best of all: With the Swedish surgeon who comes fresh as a new missionary from the school, I have one who wants to join this program and perhaps lead more independent.
